I help CEOs, COOs, and Finance leaders regain control of IT risk, suppliers, and delivery.



When IT has grown messy and nobody can clearly explain “who owns what” or “who has access to what”, I bring clarity, fast and leave you with a plan you can actually execute.



Who I am



I’m Rob Smith. I work with leadership teams who are tired of IT being a source of risk, distraction, or slow decision making.


Most of the organisations I’m brought into are not “bad at technology.” They are stuck in a common pattern. Suppliers have accumulated, access has drifted, documentation is inconsistent, and the business is operating on assumptions about resilience that haven’t been tested.


This is where I do my best work. Restoring control without creating chaos.



What I believe (and how I work)



I work on a few simple principles:

  • Truth over comfort. If something is broken, you will hear about it plainly.

  • Control before change. Governance, ownership, and access come first.

  • Evidence led decisions. If there is no evidence, it is an assumption, and assumptions are where incidents happen.

  • Minimal disruption. I focus on the highest impact actions, not weeks of workshops.

You will not get jargon heavy reporting, or a “big consultancy” approach. You will get clear decisions and practical next steps.



How delivery works



This is Rob-led delivery.


I remain accountable for the outcome from start to finish. Where specialist capability is required (security, networks, Microsoft 365, infrastructure), I have a bench of vetted specialists. You do not manage them. I do.


You get one accountable owner and a wider capability set only when it is needed.



What I do (in plain English)



Most client work falls into three categories:

  1. 10-Working-Day IT Risk Review

    A fast, executive level review that gives you clarity and control: risk register, supplier and access control map, 90-day stabilisation plan, 12-month roadmap, and a board pack.

    Fixed fee: £15,000 + VAT

  2. 90-Day Stabilisation Delivery

    If the review finds urgent gaps, I run the plan and close the highest risks quickly, while establishing a reliable operating cadence.

  3. Project Rescue

    When a programme is red and confidence is collapsing, I restore governance, rebuild the plan, and drive execution until delivery is credible again.



Who I work best with



You are a fit if:

  • you want clarity quickly and you are willing to make decisions

  • you have an IT Manager and suppliers in place, but accountability is blurred

  • you want risk reduced and delivery stabilised, not a long “transformation” story

You are not a fit if:

  • you want reassurance instead of truth

  • you want a consultant to agree with everyone

  • leadership is not willing to own priorities and trade offs
